The EDGE Conference is back! After a long 4-year break following COVID and the launch of EDGE 3, we are thrilled to be planning our 6th EDGE User conference. This year’s event EVOLVE: Engage. Embrace. Empower. aims to bring the EDGE community of users back together to share best practice and improve methods of working within the clinical research industry, following the rollout of EDGE 3 - a brand-new version of EDGE which the unit delivered successfully throughout 2023 – 2024 following years of hard work and development. The new and improved software was launched to our global user base, country by country, including over 80% of the NHS in the UK (England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland), as well as research sites overseas in countries including Canada, Belgium, India, South Africa, South Australia, and New Zealand. The CPD certificed event is the opportunity for research professionals to Engage and Embrace the new version of EDGE and leave ready to Empower their new skills and knowledge learnt, to ultimately advance research.
Celebrating paper to digital
EVOLVE also highlights the evolution of technology within research - from paper to digital and showcases how EDGE has grown and development over the last 24 years, bringing its users more features and functions to improve efficiency and processes digitally. Some of these include the addition of an electronic delegation log, electronic site file and archiving capabilities, as well as the facility for sponsors to perform remote monitoring – all of these are being highlighted in the conference’s agenda. Users will be sharing their very own case studies on their innovative digital tools that work alongside EDGE, for things like workload analysis, automated data transfer, finance and more.
The HOST
We are extremely delighted to announce the host of the EDGE Conference 2024 is none other than Fergus Walsh, BBC Medical Editor. This will be Fergus’s third EDGE Conference, as he played the part at previous conferences back in 2018 and 2019. Fergus will be chairing our Keynote sessions across the 2-day event and with his vast background in reporting on healthcare and medical news, he is a great fit for the event, and we are thrilled for his return!
About Fergus Walsh
As BBC Medical Editor, Fergus has played a key role in covering the Covid pandemic which included reporting from intensive care units in several hospitals, as well as following the development and deployment of vaccines. Fergus is based at New Broadcasting House in London and appears mainly on the Six and Ten o’clock TV News on BBC1. His reports are seen globally via BBC World News. Fergus also reports for Panorama, the world’s longest-running investigative TV programme. He can be heard on BBC radio, on the Today programme, BBC Radio 5 Live, and on the Newscast podcast. He also writes for the BBC news website.
event timings
Day 1 (24th April 2024) will start at approximently 09:15AM* for registration and finish at approximently 16:40PM*. Followed by the networking event starting at approximently 18.45PM* until 00.00AM*.
Day 2 (25th April 2024) will start at approximently 08:45AM* for registration and finish at approximently 16:00PM*.

Cancellations
We are able to offer a full refund for cancellations up until the 10th April (2 weeks before the event). After this date refunds are not possible. We are however able to swap over delegate details.
