At CIRU we work closely with a range of different organisations worldwide to achieve our aims and objectives in transforming clinical research nationally and internationally. Our collaborations continue to grow and strengthen as we build our relationships; new and the old.

University of Southampton logo

CIRU operates as an applied research and enterprise unit within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton, UK. The Faculty of Medicine leads innovative learning and discovery for better health across the life course and we are just 1 of 14 of their enterprise/trading units.

FormsVision logo

FormsVision BV is an international clinical development company located in the Netherlands. We have been working closely with them since 2010 in supplying the ALEA eCRF system. The ALEA system was original developed with the Dutch National Cancer Institute (NKI) with EU FP7 Funding.

Microsoft logo

We are working closely with Microsoft Research, Microsoft Health EMEA and Health & Social Services Asia, on the adoption of cloud based approaches to health research and care. This includes the use of HPC compute in Azure for Genomics and bioinformatics.


The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is the largest national clinical research funder in Europe and we work closely with them on a number of projects including a UK wide systems integration program and a data standards and implementation working party.

Commonwealth centre for digital health

The Commonwealth Centre for Digital Health has the vision to strategically digitalise the health system across the components identified in the Commonwealth’s Systems Framework for Healthy Policy (SFHP) to build sustainable health systems that act as a common good for all.


BISRU is an accredited research centre hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. It is a group with expertise and decades of experience in the field of materials and structural response to blast, impact and high rate loading.


The THET Ethiopia NCD Alliance is a collaboration of charitable, academic, clinical and local government partners that work together to achieve a shared vision of a country where every person afflicted by NCDs is able to access appropriate health care.

Aehin Asia eHealth Information Network

The Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) promotes better use of information communication technology to achieve better health through peer-to-peer assistance & knowledge sharing & learning through a regional approach for greater country-level impacts across South and Southeast Asia.


We are a proud member of The CPD Certification Service. CPD combines different methodologies to learning, such as conferences and workshops, all focused for an individual to improve & have effective professional

Canada’s leading provider of innovative outsourced data services; Q9 is where we host the Canadian instance of EDGE for organisations such as Alberta Innovates and 3CTN Coordinating Centre. 



Carelink provides secure network and hosting services to the UK pharmacy and healthcare market. We host the UK version of EDGE using the Carelink service.

Health Informatics Society Sri Lanka

Health Informatics Society of Sri Lanka is the professional association for the Sri Lankan medical, health and IT professionals, academics and students who are interested in Medical and Health Care Informatics. HISSL is open for medical doctors, dentists, nurses, paramedical and more.

University of Ghana

The University of Ghana has the vision to create an enabling environment that makes the University of Ghana increasingly relevant to national and global development through cutting-edge research as well as high quality teaching and learning.


Placed in the southeast of Brazil, the most industrialised region of the country, UFMG, a free-of-charge public educational institution, is the oldest university in the state of Minas Gerais. It offers 75 undergraduate degrees, including a Medicine degree, Law and Economics and more.

The University of the Philippines (UP) is the country’s national university. This premier institution of higher learning was established in 1908 and is now a university system composed of eight constituent universities and one autonomous college spread throughout 17 campuses in the archipelago.


Hamilton Health Sciences is a world-renowned hospital for healthcare research. They focus daily on improving the quality of care for our patients through innovation and evidence-based practices.

NHS Genomics Medicine Centre Wessex logo

We are in collaboration with Genomics England where the GMC Southampton team use EDGE in managing and recording information for the 100,000 Genomes Project.
The Wessex GMC is one of 13 centres across the country involved in the study.

The University of Auckland's Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences consists of six schools and is ranked among the top one per cent of Clinical and Biomedical teaching and research institutions globally.


The Faculty of Health Sciences from The University of Cape Town have the vision to be a center of excellence in health sciences that is locally relevant and globally competitive. The UCT Clinical Research Centre is another partner from the University of Cape Town.

The Ministry of Health Ethiopia has the mission to provide well integrated and rapid health services with competent management, monitoring and assistance. It promotes health services, establishes and manages referral hospitals as well as research institutes and more.

The George Institute of Global Health India

The George Institute for Global Health was established in India in 2007 to generate high quality evidence and improve the health of millions of Indians by reducing premature deaths and disability from non-communicable diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney disease, stroke, mental health, and injuries.

The University of South Australia is Australia’s University of Enterprise on the global stage, agile and astute, known for relevance, equity and excellence. UniSA undertake research that is inspired by global challenges and opportunities, delivers economic and social benefits, and which informs our teaching.


The World Health Organization is a specialised agency of the United Nations that is concerned with international public health. It was established on 7 April 1948, and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The WHO is a member of the United Nations Development Group.
