EDGE in New Zealand

The EDGE journey for New Zealand began in 2017 when EDGE & CIRU Director Professor James Batchelor began discussions with the University of Auckland in regards to their clinical trials infrastructure. Interest in using EDGE grew and in early 2019 both the University of Auckland and Auckland District Health board began their evaluation of the system in order for it to meet their requirements. Shortly after, their 1-year pilot began in June 2019 and after a successful 12 months both organisations went live with the EDGE, starting with a total of 260 studies. Further groups from Auckland University School of Medicine have since joined the EDGE Programme also.

Using EDGE allows us to streamline our processes more easily, it is making us more standardised, transparent and unified. Having our information in EDGE is saving us time all around, from allowing anyone in our team to cover the work of others as necessary to improved and quicker reporting.
